It was before I had a youtube channel and just posted pics and an account on here then I think Mr F followed in my footsteps.

probably not a good example then when the post is about YouTube recommendations.

It's got to be 20 - 25 years since I've been to Fowey. Kayaked and windsurfed there in the past, looking forward to exploring the area by sib.

Here's another channel thats worth a watch, specifically for those interested in fishing. He features sea/freshwater, costal, kayak and boat stuff.

Indeed it was Dennis and others advising Fowey as we researched it the autumn before we stayed there for two weeks the following summer. Did even have a look at the place Dennis stayed for the future but it was and still is no dogs.

Fowey was a really lovely place to SIB from, so much on the water of interest. Without a boat I wouldn't go as it's a nightmare for parking and at many times in the summer it's hard to walk though the main streets due to waves of folks on foot filling the width of the street.

The site we've booked is just over 0.5 mile from Caffa Mill and just under a mile from Fowey centre. I'm hoping not to have to park up anywhere apart from the site. Looking forward to it. Hope the weather improves.

That was a while ago (back in 2020) and he's lucky to have his fingers which were crushed between two boats. He took Renko north of Sydney which looked pretty amazing. Not sure if Stu's main job has changed - but I know he's trying to do more videos.

That's a nice site location. Only a stone's throw from the little boatyard and marine guys who were so helpful to us when we urgently needed an OB to keep our holiday on track. Will you tow the SIB to the slipway with the car each day and pop the car back to the site?

That's the plan. Hopefully it should work out that way, if not I can't see Caffa Mill car park being overly full in September.

Did you know… have I said before… you can get a weeks permit for the caffa mill car park? Through the council and you get an email back that your reg number is in the permit part of their system. It saved us loads compared with a weeks 24/7 parking at the machine. But perhaps not so beneficial for you for a few hours just some days.

I've always enjoyed creating short, funny videos, so the format appeals to me. But is it worth jumping on the bandwagon if the whole "Shorts" thing fizzles out in a few months? I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket, you know?
For those folks who've been making YouTube Shorts, what's your take?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Different approach on a first post, most introduce themselves with a brief outline of Rib/Sib, experience etc

Only ever done 2 shorts and unless I have something specific to show/explain I don't see myself doing another. Not that I see shorts fizzling out, I just don't find the format appealing from a creators point of view.

YouTube shorts are not separate to normal YouTube videos. If you make Shorts you can also have other videos on your channel. I have made and uploaded many of both.

Several boating videos on my channel here

I loved this - really nicely made crowd funded documentary. ‘Outside Your Zone’ reminded me a little this, I wonder if they’ve watched it…https://youtu.be/ibP5IQxId34?si=vQo4o90mjf4lr7K9

"This whole YouTube Shorts thing has me curious. Seems like everyone's talking about it, and the potential for youtube shorts monetization is definitely enticing. But I'm wondering if it's just a flash in the pan, or if it has staying power
