Making a Wireless Lightboard for a Boat Trailer

1. Falling off, a sturdy cable tie on each side (in addition to the native solution) resolved that.

2. Wrapping the cable around the trailer frame. I stopped doing that and used Velcro cable wraps instead. Secure them to the cable and then just flip them around the frame.

Ahh but it has everything to do with the issue in hand. If you are trying/testing something you have to consider what the worse case outcome is if things go pear shaped. Are you risking an accident or just your tea going cold.

Introducing three areas of potential failure (wi-fi, battery power, budget Chinese build) into the lights that may be all there is between you and an artic bearing down as you think you are showing brake lights and a right turn indicator... well it seems somewhat remiss as you may end up with a 3m RIB after all that effort.

This is my wireless one - alongside my wired one.

It's great, I'm very happy with it. I also know where/how to get trailer board planks now, which is handy.

The wireless units are magnetically attached so I can conveniently have them indoors, or inside the car etc, for charging.

Where do you get the planks on their own ?

It is a UPVC Ranch Style Skirting Plank as used on static caravans.
For example - https://www.deckbrokers.uk/UPVC-Skir...Skirting-Plank
(Although this company is expensive, you can get it cheaper elsewhere, probably locally from a 'van decking installer)

Well done for tracking that down. Interesting thing is however you can buy a complete wired light board for the price of that plank and strip it down

A plastic roofing company may be your easy source. Online pricing needs to do delivery of an awkward size... Go out the house and visit a building merchant who specialises in windows and roof stuff...
