Is this a pic of Knott end or Peenemunde? I love those double yellows that disappear into the sea. Do the local traffic wardens wear wellies? If you look closely, one of those bollards has my orange gelcoat on it.

bollard damage - another good reason for retrieving over side you wouldn't want to hurt one of them would you. Theres a 10.5m rise of tide here. The yellow lines have no legal backing but it does discourage folk from leaving cars after theyve launched. from past incidents we can say that transit vans float for a very short time when immersed-just enough to get washed over the side. We had one guy break the window of his jag the other week to get at his spare keys (in glovebox) as tide came in cos his mate ha gone to sea with the others

ok - Ive got the hang of it now-I tightened the elastic in the computer and adjusted the nut that holds the keyboard
Now drive into the jaws of trailer and keep in forward gear

snap the chain link into the bow eye before driving off or it might go back into the oggin or onto the concrete and then you'll get a parking ticket cos of the yellow lines Also ensure car is in forward gear cos it ain't arf embarresing if you back the wheels over the edge

Hairy....
I think a snipe easy launch or (AKA brake back trailer) might be a good bit of kit here.

Iv'e not used mine yet as it was seized when i got it, but its free now. just waiting for the right conditions to give it a try.

oo-er thats a while (and a couple of boats ) back.
Break back trailers are no advantage at Knott End, we've had them over the years on various boats, more of a hindrance than anything. Handy on the beach with the tractor though.

How far did the transom have left out the water as a matter of interest ? not an angle i would like to be sitting at when the local jet ski lads bow wave me to death at my slipway
