Searider 5.4 Weight

I'm looking (Yet again), at moving up to a 5.4 meter Searider.

My question is I have a good Coaster trailer rated up to 625 Kgs. I believe this will be more than capable of carrying a 5.4 and all its ancilleries. Can anyone with a 5.4 Meter Searider confirm this.

Many thanks in advance.

Nick, I'm no expert but I would say that a 5.4 Searider with outboard and fittings would be more like 750kgs or more with fuel.

Mine is around that weight and the layup isn't as heavy as a Searider, but I have an extra 50-60 kgs at the blunt end in the form of my 4 stroke.

Weight

Hi Biggles,

Have a look at this thread -

http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread....earider+weight

We were discussing towing weights.

My 5.4, 90hp Mariner 2 stroke including trailer was 720kg on the weighbridge

Is your 625kgs capacity or Gross weight.

My trailer was an Indespension Roller Coaster 1 unbraked. Stated capacity is 520kg, max gross weight 750kg. Just the job.

Hi,

The trailer is marked as a Hallmark Coaster 3. The plate on the drawbar is marked with Gross wt: 625 KG and Axle Load 625 KG. There appear to be no other markings.

I'm guessing as Seariders boat weighed 750 KG on the weighbridge this also included the trailer. Would I be right in assuming a trailer weighs about 100 KG.

The Searider 5.4 weighs 326 KG.
Yamaha 80 4 Stroke weighs 170 KG (I,m also considering a Tohatsu 90 2 stroke which is alot lighter).
50 Litres Fuel weighs 50 KG
Total: 546 KGs

This should leave 79 KG for other bits. I think I'm within limits but I'm open to anybodys advice.

If I go for the Tohatsu at 130 Kgs and put the fuel in the car (Probably breaking the law their as well) this brings it down another 90 Kgs to 456 KGs.

The latest Hallmark trailer brochure is no good as its hard to work out which trailer they are actually describing. My trailer states its a Coaster 3 yet it has the swinging axle and easy launch sytem of the roller coaster. I also have the 500 X 10 6 ply tires as fitted to the 2005 Coaster 5 series.

Regards Nick R.

I think my trailer weighed 230kg - this was the diference between the capacity and max gross weight.

This means that my boat/engine etc was about 490kg

I'll stick Stevie on the crane and weigh him if you want!
