Flatacraft are back

I've just heard that Flatacraft were exhibiting at the London Boat Show this year. I wasn't able to go, but I'm surprised that no one mentioned it in their show reports.

Did anyone see the Flatacraft stand or was it hidden away somewhere?

John

Can't say I noticed them there, I would guess they probably didn't actually have any boats there - maybe just a desk somewhere!?

here's the link to their new website with some illustrations of their new boats:

Flatacraft are back

FLATACRAFT IS BACK & RELAUNCHES
AT THE LONDON BOAT SHOW

Flatacraft has returned and in some style. Now under new ownership, one of the oldest RIB manufacturers in the UK is back and enjoying a huge amount of interest as a result of its relaunch at the London International Boat Show.

Originally founded in the early 1970’s by Tony Lee-Elliott who is widely credited with inventing the RIB concept, Flatacraft produced thousands of RIB’s from 2.6m to 9.5m until Tony’s retirement. New owner, Glenn Whitfield, has been delighted with the response to the relaunch.

“The new ‘Tenderlux’ range is based on a proven Flatacraft deep V hull. We then undertook an extensive ergonomic, styling and structural design programme. The result is a range of luxury yacht tenders and sports RIB’s that are not only elegant and stylish, but practical and robust. Visitors to the Show described it as a work of art, saying there is nothing else like it!”

The RIB’s are made in house at the Flatacraft factory in Poole and are available in 3.4, 3.8, 4.2, 4.6 and 5 metres with a range of seating and engine options. Sea trials begin in February. For further information visit www.flatacraft.com or call 01202 623828.

The best of luck to Mr. Whitfield especially in the marketing and branding dept. 'Tenderlux', 'practical and robust'.Bit of a contradiction there. 'Tenderlux' sounds like a beauty product.

Tenderlux were Flatacrafts top of the range high specification RIB's and proved quite popular in the luxury tender market.
