Tornado Ribs

Thinking of offering Tornado's whats people thoughts on the fact they are now produced in China? If it suited your requirement and your budget would you buy one or go elsewhere?
Were just toying with the idea at the mo and seeking people opinions, and as always RIBNET is the place to get them
Thanks in anticipation

Refering to the 11m rib sent to Norway last year, and the article in RibMagazine last year where the boat was slaugthered, I think that the Tornado boats are so extreemely bad that they can not be any worse if bulit in China. I only know that if the tubes also are going to be built in China, they will be worse than they are now. Have owned 34 Rib Unlimited and do therefore know those boats. They tried tubes from China. Big disaster, had to retub and put on nice quality from Henshaw.

Scorpion Ribs, Verado's,Tornados's Sheesh waht are you guys up to?

All jokes aside there is a nice looking Tornado moored near me looks stunning but on closer inspection the finish is more working rib than pleasure rib..

We got a 8,5 from china last summer. Very bad finish, but still in one piece after 600 hours. Got a 9,5 this spring witch was quite nice and a 7,5 one month ago that looks better than my UK built 7,5.

I have over 1000 hours on mine, and I am surprised that it still look so nice.
Shiny tubes and no cracks in the hull. Have replaced one fuel tank, original jockeys, 2x2 spring units on the Ullmans and one engine. I am now the happy owner of a 300 Suz

Well for the record, my Tornado 6.8m, now 4years old is very well built, good fitout and performs excellently, especially in rough seas ... BUT the solent chop can still be a pain occasionally.
