Cherbourg / St. Vaast last weekend

Well last weekend the weather was just great and Mike C and I took full advantage of it . As the weather was going to be better on the Monday then on Saturday a prompt decision was taken by Mike . We go Sunday . This was the right decision and who was out in the Channel on any of those days will know what I mean. Not a breeze nor even a wave. It was like crusing across a duck pond. The only movement of water was caused by an underwater current or passing ocean going vessel. Near the french coast here and there we had a wave or two. Nothing significant.

We met at Nab Tower Sunday late morning and were seen off by Aging Youth. Thanks Kevin and sorry you could not join us.
Great place Cherbourg . Good hotel although not many restaurants open on a Sunday evening. The lunch in St. Vaast was as Mike C had planned Moules and chips .
Thanks Mike for organizing the trip. The wives were promised a easy ride and that's what they had there and back .

Here are some shots
As you can see from this photo as we are entering Cherbourg I am in my T-shirt - shorts as well . That is how I crossed the channel. You don't have to go to the med to go ribbing in a T shirt. Coming back however we decided to dress up

Going Green

Hi Andre & Mike & Ladies,

Well from the Photo's I can see it was a great trip. I am still kicking myself for not being able to go. When is the next trip?

It is not often we get such good conditions in channel so the timing was excellent. Are you sure Mike didn't pay Neptune a bribe

See you all soon

Best wishes
Kevin

I cannot believe anyone would go to the effort of visiting St Vaast and eat moules & frites. You do realise that possibly the greatest restaurant within a 200 mile radius is only 1 minute from the quayside.

Next time you visit spend a few euros and dine at the "France and Fuschia", you tight sods!!!
