I know this is a really key topic of conversation on here so I just thought I would revive it one more time to say that having just used some of the Rib Revive stuff from RibShop I am amazed at how good it was. It actually turned the water a gray blue colour as it got rid of all the engrained dirt and crap and clearly some of my tube as well

I thought my RIB was clean before I tried this stuff now it looks like new.

Don't waste any time with these homegrown cleaners this stuff really does work!

It is something we want to get into stock, we are currently having a prototype made up, once we are happy with it and have pricing set I will let you know.

I agree, Rib Revive is by far the best stuff I have used and if you then apply 3m Conditioner after wards you get a nice shine as well.

Ribshop sell the 3m stuff as well.

I was going to buy some of the 3M conditioner/protector for my new RIB but thought it a bit expensive, so started looking at alternatives. Ended up buying this stuff http://www.pro-detailing.co.uk/produ...od=158&pcat=26, but have not tried it yet (because my RIB is still being built!).

Renovo market a marine vinyl protector but it is exactly the same product as the car vinyl stuff I bought (I checked with them) and they also confirmed it is suitable for use on PVC and/or Hypalon.

Seems to have great results on classic car tops, so looking forward to trying it on the RIB!

3M Cleaner is for sale at rib shop for only 12.89 and it lasts a while, I have used the same bottle at least 3 times on our boat.Thought it was a good deal.

Was going to say, I use TFR as a degreaser quite a lot on some of my kit, never tried it on the RIB yet, but always wanted to know, does it come in different grades, or is TFR just TFR ?

As people will know from my previous posts from the Valet that was done at Ribshop and using Rib Revive and the 3M stuff I can still vouch for the 3M product and rib revive combo. My rib has now been used a fair few times, always washed off and the boat still looks like new and the water beads much like it would off a ducks back!! Cheers :-)

TFR or Pwa as its also called does come in different grades . the general stuff is usually very powerful dulls paint and streaks alloy etc .
however Wurth sell a higher gade ,higher cost , that seems to clean even better without the damaging effects its called BMF cleaner .

the blurb reads

High degreasing capacity
will not damage rubber laquer and plastic
Self emulatingieseperates oil within the water .

Machine Mart sell the stuff as a premix or neat - I find the premix a bit too dilute - I use a 50:50 mix with water. The best thing to apply it with is a soft nylon brush - Tesco do some nice ones also great for alloy wheels.

Sorry its called by so many names as to who or what its used for .

PWA =pressure washer aditive

TFR traffic film remover

truck wash

etc etc

then i guess certain marketers have re named it, re coloured it re packaged it and mixed in other chemicals to suit a specific use .

there is Muck Off for bikers at silly prices dyed pink and in posher bottles

Truck wash dyed green in big containers for truckers and the motor trade

Patio cleaner for muppets who shop at Q it all stores

This is the best I've used and swear by it. It can be used in various dilutions for all manner of household uses. I've tried others, concentrates etc. and not been as impressed. Beware of using it neat.
