Picked up my new RIB last week but only just got around to posting some pics. 6.3m Northcraft built to my own spec, cat B, 115hp Yamaha, sitting on a De Graaf trailer. She took a little longer to build than anticipated (partly my fault, and don't they always!) but VERY happy with the result. I've not used her in anger yet but she feels good on the water, and tows really nicely too.
Hey yes that was me (and the girlfriend) in Bristol docks. Wasn't it a great day to be messing around on the water?
I tried to resist upsetting the harbour master , but taking the boat down to Cornwall for the bank holiday weekend to see what she's like on the sea. Can't wait!

Guys, Matt H and I often use Bristol Marina to launch and then head through the lock down the Avon for a blast. We will have to try and arrange a West Country get together some time. Although it may have to be a couple of months seeing as I have no boat at the moment and Matt has gone for a Jetski until his next project.
And if he thinks I am getting on a Jetski with him he's nuts.

Have you or anybody else here launched from Cardiff Channel View Centre?
I've been recommended to give it a go as you can cruise around the barage at any time of the tide. Possibly not the most exotic location but only being an hour from Bristol with a decent slip and parking it sound like an option to get on the water without worrying about tide times. Apparently there's no speed limit and 500 acres to explore!
Yes I have launched into Cardiff Bay a few times. There are a couple of videos on You Tube under my username chris1573 of Matt and I heading out through the lock for some fun

Looking good that N/C hull is good ! I found the engine height to be totally critical to performance though, so if you dont get the rpm right or the consumption, lifting one hole will change everything if you need to with the cav plate about 2 inches above the hull bottom in the end.. your Yam might be different though, but just so as you know... good cruising

Chris it would be good to have a run out as a group sometime. The boat is going to be based down in Cornwall for the Summer though. Let me know when you're sorted with your new boat.

It's a stunning slip - about as good as they get!!!

That's generally considered a starting point. In some cases, you may need to tweak the engine height a bit.
