My new Ribcraft 5 Mtr

Ive gone and done it!!
Went to down the factory yesterday and placed a order for the new 5.0 mtr they have designed recently they had one almost complete with the Double FS (touring) consol and it had the Brand new Suzook 90 etc etc with blue tubes, attention to detail was superb and it was just too much to bear!

There was a few additions to the build spec but pretty much fully loaded. I will be taking pics of the build from start to finish and posting them (if they dont mind) and anything else that is is interesting lying around, Build is to start in a week or so!!

if I remember, I think they have one at this years Southampton boat show,so will be nabbing a go on that one!!

cheers! really looking forward to some serious blatting around.
Im going for blue toobs, white hull, grey strake,Grey floor, Grey seats with blue beading, also with 2 wing back seat on the FS consol,(which is like brain out, iron in type consol seating postion) ,4 grey wear patches on the rear tube section, in built 55 L fuel tank which is below the deck up front with the facility for another 25 L underneath the rear seats and will do a switch over tap to give 80L, i would hope to acheive 100 miles the way i drive

oh and 4 foot straps bonded in so that i can cable tie the mrs down when she complains that boats are boats and not aeroplanes!!

havent decided yet, its really down to weight, with 60 efi f/s they all come in at 110 kgs approx which is really light.
The new suzook weighs 155 kgs, i would want something in between, aiming when airbourne to be slightly stern down, any ideas?

No, there's nothing to fill that gap - went through the same research looking for a motor for my SR4.7. I'm limited to 130kg transom weight, so the Soozook DF60/70 (inc the new DF70) are all too heavy. If I wanted 4-stroke, then I'd be limited to 60hp Merc/Mariner or Yam (and possibly the new Honda).

You could go for a lightly used 2-stroke Yam 90.

Evinrude etec 90 = 145kg
Honda BF90 = 163kg
Yamaha F90 = 168kg

e-tec 130hp circa 170kgs, food for thought....

http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30636

a couple of months ago but you never know and he normally updates when things are sold...

opti's are quite heavy though I think...

Tohatsu TLDI 90hp = 143kgs, (£5000 new!) just to complicate things even more

Bloody ell DD, thats outhill porn that is!! , there must be a 2007 90hp t/s with less than 20 hours on the clock over here somewhere!! someone has one, where the feck do i find it without trawling through the normal, t would be a awesome set up with that lump on the back

avocet, im trying to get the Mrs on for the trip but i frightened her a bit,, i bought a Sunseeker for a bit of fun, bloody bargain and i took that wavejumping near to the needles in a force 6, it neary rolled..Clucking bell , her arse barely touched the seat!! and i used £150 worth of fuel in 3 hours. ive sent her to a hypnotherapist where they got her to write down a thousand times, " I love wavejumpumping" "i love wavejumping" you think im joking!!

Looking forward to the pics mate. Can see what you mean about the 60 4 stroke. Would be a dream on fuel after the 90 2 strokes on the seariders...... hang on! What am I talking about.... the way you go you may as well put a whole in the fuel tank. Get the 90 2 stroke

If you want a lightly used Yam 90, then the people you bought your last one from had one for sale a couple of weeks ago. It may still be available? Personally, I'd get the new, sorry, used one from America. The seller is genuine. I contacted him a little while ago and he ran a few shipping options past me. Or, perhaps you could use Codprawn's new company.
