Wanted: 1.7 mercruiser engine wanted

Hi everyone, newbie hear

I dont have a rib i have a quicksilver 630sd and its fitted with a 1.7 mercruiser diesel.

Ive done a google search and seen that there are quite a few ribs fitted with this engine so i joined the group

Does anyone have a complete engine for sale in the uk. Mine is toast

Vauxhall Astra used the same engine, you might have more luck looking in that direction.

Take the opportunity to re engine with something else that engine was pants, a small yanmar would be a good option.
The astra engine was the same block & head & some ancillaries but different pistons turbo manifolds etc.
The 3.0 petrol mercruiser is a better option than the 1.7

I have thought about re powering with a different engine as ive seen some stories about these engines.

What engine would be the easiest swap?

3.0 petrol mercruiser is the easiest option & probably the cheapest
