No idea of the dinghy type, but it looks like you'll need quite a few bits to get it sailing again!

Looks like it has(d) a bowsprit, and the holes towards the transom on the gunwhales would support a huge asymetric spinny so try looking at the Laser / Topper / ISO ranges for a start.

hi 9d280
thanks for the info, i havnt got a clue what your talking about tho. I just used it to go up and down my local canal, put a 2hp mariner on the back and had some great days out on it, i know it needs many bits to get it sailing again what i ment was it just needs a small piece for the front to make it a complete hull, but not sure weather that is realy required ? do you have any idear what one of these would fetch the way it is ? oh with the trailer aswell

Is there a hull number on the upper right hand corner of the transom?

This might help identify it.

Possibly not. The "blunt" bit probably is nowhere near the water when sailing, so doesn't matter if it isn't a perfect knife edge.

The names I gave were a going in guess for that kind of dinghy. I have since had a crawl round some dinghy sites, and so far nothing jumping out as what you have.

The bow may not actually end in a point - there are dozens of dinghies out there with "blunt" ends - the Mirror being the classic example. When I saw your pic it looks like there is a 2" hole in that front section - that would probably be for a bowsprit for an Asymetric spinnaker, so unless there are some more bolt holes or other method of attatching it, there may not be a "pointy bit".

Google the Topper Buzz, it has a very similar shaped bow (small blunt triangle) but the stern is totally different.

Firstly the trailer is not road legal until it has mudguards both sides.

That boat looks odd, if you want to know more, stick some pics up on yachts and yachting forum, someone may know there. It doesnt have any holes for shrouds or somewhere for the mast to go. Better pics may help but it isnt a Laser/RS/Topper range

Is it grp or plastic?

Glass Reinforced Plastic. AKA fibreglass.

A winch on a trailer for a 14' dinghy sounds a bit overkill to me..... or the trailer wasn't originally built for the hull.

Just to get a better freel for the trailer, how many bolts hold the suspension units on? Or does it have an axle?

hi 9d280
i can tell you the trailer was not for the dinghy, but when i brought it, guy did say it would carry a 14' boat, i think he was using it to get hes small rib about. i did use the winch to load it onto the trailer and found it very usefull, if i carnt get rid of them both i might just sell the trailer and try and get back what i paid for it.
the trailer has indespention units, four bolts i think but i will check soon, oh i think i might have to get some mudgaurds for it aswell has someone from site pointed out.
spk soon Ark
