Short shaft minty 2006 but it needs the carb cleaning or otherwise sorting, happened end of the summer after trolling for a couple of days - running rough and erratic after and I was unable to get to the bottom of it, planned to pass it onto my local OB guru but...delays/end of season - currently winterized in the garage...

I'm hoping that later tonight my quest may be complete

If it does not work out I may well take up one of the above or PM'd offers but I will confirm tomorrow.

Thanks for all the advice and offers & i'll update tomorrow.

What a bargain, 6 hour round trip but very pleased with this 1996 Mariner
£600 fully serviced and it is as clean under the hood as it is outside, no paintwork done, all original and runs very quiet and smooth, seller left it idling for 10 minutes from cold & it didn't miss a beat

Thanks for all the info provided on the forum, great site for a beginner to pick up good advice

Good engine at a good price, I bought a new one around 2008 after scouring the country for the best price and paid £1500, its only done about 20 hours but never misses a beat and know I can rely on it when out in the boat, probably keep it until it goes to the great scrap yard in the sky as its portable and managable with the weight, best of luck
