17" pitch is very coarse for a Merc 50. What boat is it on & what's your target max rpm?

correct,

I use a 17" alum ( 3 blade original ) on T 15 but the boat is very light, one up my wot rpm is 5450 ( 50 below max ) which gives 42/43 mph, two up 40/41 mph, with 10 gals of fuel.

anyone with as 17" stainless steel prop for sale.....

RIBase
17" is very coarse for an SR4 with a 50hp. Mercury, is your boat an Avon Supersport? It's the only one I can think of that'd just about swing a prop that big.

I ran a 14" on my PTT Merc/Mariner 50 on my SR4 and any more would have overpropped it.

I mostly use a 15 pitch but when I am on my own the revs are usually well over 6000 at WOT. The boat Avon SR4 is more or less just the hull & tubes with a light jockey console. I want to try it with a 17 pitch. Cheers
