1gb x 2=2gb PC2700 DDR Non EEC CL2.5

Got fed up with being outbid or perhaps I'm too tight. Who knows!

Anyway I'm looking for the above for my aging PC. If anyones got RAM laying round that meets the above spec, I might be able to turn it into some cash for you.

Probably not.

I've only got two "blue" sockets that they fit into, I'm using 2 x 512mb modules now. There are two slots along side the "blue" ones. These are "black" in colour, are the same length but have two guide pins for correct fittment. I think they might be DIMM slots. Can these be used to upgrade?

You must have a dual slot mobo. AFAIK you can't mix and match, you need to use one or the other type of socket and not both at once.

I've dug out the Manual that came with the Motherboard and you're right, can't be mixed and matched. It also tells me that I can only use 333mhz in the 184 slot or 100mhz in the 168 slot to a maximum of 2gb.

I'm sorry Starovich, but the 512 ram you have will not be suitable

So I guess I'm still looking.

Hi Andy

I have sat infront of me an unused 2x1Gb memory upgrade kit which consist of 2x184 pin DIMM slightly faster than you wanted at PC3200 but should work fine. It is yours if you want it.

The results of the Crucial scanner showed the following as suitable, so if your memory matches what is shown below then I would be happy to talk to you about your memory upgrade kit.

Module Size: 1GB
Package: 184-pin DIMM
Feature: DDR PC3200
Specs: DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 128Meg x 64 •

How much do you want for it?
