2005 Johnson/Evinrude 15hp 2 Stroke Short S

This has got to be the nearest you can get to a new 2 stroke in the UK. Engine is 2005 but not sold till 2006, it has done less than 5 hours. It was bought as an engine for the tender of a 40ft yacht, but it was soon realised that it was far too powerfull for the dinghy. As a result its sat in a heated garage for the past 7 years. This is the identical engine to the Evinrude apart from the decals.

Its had a check over, including new impellor, gear lube and plugs. Its a short shaft and weighs just 35kg, perfect for a sib or small rib. Its a lovely engine, easily as quiet as a Yamaha 15, with good power delivery and easy (1st time) starting. Although i'm not normally a Johnson guy, I really like this one.

Cosmetically its really good, just the odd scuff on the leg and a very small area of paint flaking round 1 nut on the leg. Under the hood it is like new. The brown 'stains' you can see on the photos are actually just the original Johnson grease.

Viewing is is welcome and the engine can be picked up from St Helens, WA10. Send me a PM if you would like any more information or would like to view.

Asking £1095 for a really pristine engine.

will this be noticeably lighter than my 2002 Yamaha 25 as I struggle a little getting the Yamaha in and out of the back of my car

Yep,we have a Yam 25 as well and the Johnson is a lot lighter. I can put this one in theboot on my own, but the Yam needs 2 of us.

Everyone thinks the Mercury/Mariner is the lightest 15, but this is the same weight at 34kg (and its 2 kg lighter than a Yam 15 )
