it depends how quickly it was got running after it was recovered assuming it had water inside
you only have a few hours to either get the engine running or totally strip it
once running it is best to give it a good thrashing for a few hours to get it hot & ensure there is no moisture left inside
a few mins run is not enough to ensure there is no moisture left to do damage while the engine is idle
if it stood for a few days before being run up there will be corrosion damage to the crank & bearings which might not show as a problem immediately but it will long term
if it was got running & treated properly it might never be a problem, if not it could be a nightmare
