40/50hp Short Shaft Outboard

Hi,

I'm looking for a 40 or 50 hp short shaft outboard for my new surfcat.

Ideally 2 stroke, but I could also work with 4 stroke if there's one available.

I'm based in Aberdeen, but could collect from anywhere in Scotland or northern England if anyone has something suitable.

Thanks,
gmoir_2

Sorry, I'm looking for a short shaft. Std shaft will be too long.

I think short shaft is 15"
Standard shaft is 20"
And long shaft is 25"

Happy to be corrected though.

Hey,

Not yet. It's still on order with Jacques. Hopefully I'll get it in the next few months.

I post up some photos once its here. I'm hoping to do some coastal exploring with it and it seemed a bit more practical than the thundercat and a lot more fun than a standard sib.

What colours did you go for? Enclosed or open transom?

It's going to be yellow with black trim.

I went for the open transom. Hopefully it won't be too bad, but I figured it would be fairly easy to enclose it with some pvc fabric in the future if needed.

Going to get a few extra D ring tie downs fitted in the bow area to tie down some dry bags.

I got the enclosed transom, a double rubbing strake and a double wear patch on top, if I was ordering again, it would be the exact same.

If you're still looking. And this side of Hadrian's Wall too!

Something strange about the cowl. Probably been resprayed. The decals are on at a funny angle.
