99/00 Mercury 200hp 2 stroke for sale

Due to refurbishments(new tubes, deck etc) of my RIB, I have decided to try and find a new engine.

As a result I have mine for sale if anyone is looking for a good one for their RIB.

The engine is a 99/00 Mercury 200hp 2 stroke with not a terrific amount of hours(reckon under 200,but not gospel)

I m not sure if it is a short shaft or a normal length; one of the outboard places I spoke to said it was probably a normal length but im not sure! But, with a middle section and a new prop rod, it could be easily made into a XL shaft with minimal outlay.

In the 4 years I ve had the boat, the engine has never let me down once(the electrics have, on numerous occasions!)

It goes like the clappers (48kts) and isnt as bad on fuel as you might think.
A trip from Plymouth out to the Lane and back costs about £25 in fuel and thats cruising at about 28-30kts with 5 of us on..Fuel computer shows 11gal/hr.

Its always been well maintained; had a good service last year(new plugs, filters, gearbox oil etc) and looks like new..no scratches on the leg, just a few on the bottom.

Price £3500??

I really dont know what its worth, decent engines are like rocking horse sh&t and rubbish ones still make good money! I dont have much comperables to base it on.

If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me for pics etc

also open to offers, better some one uses it than left doing nothing!

Oh, and its the electrics on the boat that let me down..not the engine electrics!
