"A" Frame,
A frame from my 4m Avon Searider for sale, it's a stainless double A frame with navigation lights attached but needs rewiring, fixing bolts included. £100 but needs to be picked up from Sheffield South Yorkshire.

Hiya, 3 questions, do you still have it, could you ski off if it, and would it fit a 5.3 avon rib?
Thanks and regards
chris

No, you'll need a double frame in at least 1.5" OD tubing, preferably 2" OD, well braced and secured to both the transom & deck.

So how do ski poles get away with it then, mine used to be braced by a spltil pin! to a bit of t piece metal over the fuel tank connceted to a bit of ply :s crazy
so where do I get one of these from then? As I really do want a decent frame
I'll take some pics of mine layer as although it's not a double there is definately slot if bracing at the bottom
cheers
chris

Ski poles on 'ardboats tend to be braced at roughly mid height by the deck moulding at the front of the transom well, which they pass through. They're also a lot lower than A-frames, so not subjected to such high lateral forces from the skier when he/she turns around the buoys.
If you want an A frame for skiing off, you'll need to have one made bespoke, for your boat - biffer may be able to make you one, but I know he's very busy at the moment.
