advice and materials please!! lifeline patch
hi all, i have added a picture of one of the better inner patches that i have just removed from my 20 year old PU tornado rib! to put it mildly they are all de laminating and in pretty shabby condition!!
ok does anyone know of a way to make some more on a really really tight budget? i have orange PU, but none of the strapping that holds the lifeline ropes, and i dont have access to an industrial sewing machine!! does anyone have ideas or any for sale? or an alternative? anything is welcome and so is the advice! maybe someone has loads of these thingys knocking about?
many many thanks
toby

The strapping can be found on Amazon, or the like. Somewhere off the internet in other words. It doesn't have to be the exact same, and could even be tubular webbing. You will need an industrial sewing machine. So just how far are you willing to go to trade someone to sew it? Hmmm...it is up to you
The sewing on the original looks pretty sloppy to me. It wouldn't be my way of sewing it anyhow.

Rib Shop, who post on here can make them up for you if they do not have them in stock.

I wasn't inferring myself
For the cost of having someone make them, you might be able to buy a sewing machine that will do the job.

Try eBay for the webbing then look for someone who repairs horse rugs or tents/tarpaulins to do the stitching for you.

There is a sail maker in Gillingham from memory A&B they are at Gillingham Pier. He is quite an obliging chap when it comes to making bits up. Regards Jim
