For Sale: Bargain Outboard!!!

Have been offered a never used mariner 40hp 4 stroke, short shaft, pull start on a tiller.

Built in 2003 and looks like it's never been fitted, the leg looks new but the cowling has a few scratches on.

Under the hood looks like new too

It belonged to the army I think.

Seems a strange spec to me but please post if you know what applications these are normally used on.

If you want it I'll put you in touch with the dealer, there's nothing in it for me, I'm just being nice

There is a company in the USA that sell long shaft kits to modify short shaft engines, the kits are not expensive. I know the do a kit for the 40 yam, not sure about the Honda but can find out if it is of interest.
