Hi all
I have no use for this trailer any more so its up for sale.
We built this trailer in 2010 to transport our Osprey 6.5m rib which it did impecably.
It is built to a very high standard using twin 1000kg Alko waterproof axle's, a Knott 2000kg braked hitch and Fuller 1200kg twin speed winch.
It is rated to take a boat up to 1450kgs and 7.5m in length.
All fixings on this trailer are stainless steel along with all brake cables.
Most of the u-bolts have protected with heat shrink tubing to guarantee long life.
Not happy with the painting standard of the axle crank arms and brake drums, these were re-painted with an industrial primer/topcoat before instalation.
A set of LED waterproof taillights is fitted but are not wired up as i used a trailer board when towing.
An Alko hub flushing system was fitted from new.
This trailer was used to tow our RIb from our home 178 miles down to its mooring then back again a few months later. It did this for two seasons meaning the trailer has only ever been in the water 4 times.
We fitted custom designed roller bunks using 10 independent rubber rollers on each. These rotate around a platic bearing hub on a section of galvanised tube. Each roller can be removed for maintenance if needed.
10 self aligning keel rollers are also fitted which can be shimmed to take the form of the keel.
The trailer originally had low profile wheels and tyres fitted and the mudguards were built around them. We subsequently changed the wheels/tyres to a commercial spec giving greater load carrying ability. Because of this, the mudguards look a bit small for the wheels but perform as expected...more a cosmetical issue then anything.....im just picky.
The support arms for the mudguards could do with a re-paint as these were not hot dipped galvanised like the rest of the trailer and components.
The trailer is at our workshop in France but as i travel back and forward to the UK every two weeks i can deliver it to either Portsmouth, Southampton or the New Forest.
Looking for £2000.
PM me for more info, pics, etc....
