Re: Speed Rails

Hi Pete,

I am interested in your speed rails, could you please email me some pictures, tell me how long they are and if they would be suitable for 5.2m boat. And also how much would it cost to have it posted to Melbourne (Australia). Do you charge 50 per rail or is this price for the pair?

Thank you, Ron Clarke
pls. replay to emial address: joyron7@bigpond.com

Very different effect to trim tabs and doel fins though! We have made our own, and they give extra lift at speed but make for a harder ride and depending on the application too much lift when it's rough as the boat is airborne more.

Ron, I've just spoken to Pete who's across sea's on holiday and upto his arms is S&!t quite literally.

He tells me that these Rails were sold 6 months ago.

He bought them though These guys who imported them from Sweden. These guys will apparently only deal direct to the trade, but might well help you out if you email them asking for help.

I'll have a little search myself too and will post anything I think you'll find usefull.

Ron hi, sadly they sold a while back. As Andy said I had to import them and it took about eight weeks. However they did work and did provide extra lift to the stern of a heavy pacific 22 rib especially when loaded with divers.

Were a stock Volvo part, available from your local Volvo agent. We bought ours from Poole Marine Services a few years ago, took them a 4 days to get them!
