Bargain sale
Have you used the 7 yet ? I was going to get one after seeing such great reviews but then found there had been issues with them and some stores in the US had done a recall on them.

I have one a few weeks now, not that impressed, sure it is nice but not £400 nice.
Gitup g2 at 100 quid is best bang for buck camera I have. I have a hero 2, 4, 7, gitup g2, gitup g3 and unless you want 4k 60 or want EIS I would get a gitup2 and put the 300 quid difference on a brushless gimbal (way better than EIS) and a good day out.
If like me you shoot in 1080p 60fps the 100mpbs you get is totally wasted on YouTube anyway as it converts to 12mbps, the max you will get is 20 something with some messing about I posted about last week on another thread.
Better cameras for the money on market than any of the gopro range, especially if you put it on YouTube.

Yes I have as I bought it at the beginning of the month at Gatwick Airport on route to Costa Rica for a 2 week "adventure holiday" . I used it when I was zip lining and the footage is amazing and with wifi included I could down load the clips to my iPhone. i will use it on Saturday on the rib

In time I may come to the same conclusion , who knows. The money has been spent to no point of me having any regrets now. I have uploaded loads of clips on You Tube from the Hero 4 so will see if there is any difference later with Hero 7. Hope not

I popped into my local retailer today who had completely sold out of them, he claims they've had no returns, so hopefully just a small issue with a few in the US. It will be a month before new stock hits the shelves here.

Gopro you are buying a name, other cameras (gitup 2, Xiaomi, firefly, Sony,l etc) have had EIS for many years and in some cases better sensors and lenses than gopro.
I can't see beyond my git2, (the git3 is good too but won't fit in my brushless gimbal) my hero 4 black never leaves the house.
My hero 7 took a dump last weekend, auto exposure wasn't working correctly, I refreshed firmware but not tried it again.
Unless you plan watch your videos on a really good tv and I mean really good, the extra mbps is literally wasted as encoding it takes far longer and you tube crushes to 12mbps anyway.
If you want 1080p from the hero 7 on YouTube I would record in 2.7k and upload that, takes a longer to edit etc but is substantially better quality as YouTube give you the better playback codec (vc09) on 2.7k uploaded videos which is double the standard 12mbps they normally give.
However it means more time editing, encoding, uploading etc.
Btw EIS isn't great on a boat but I'm used to the brushless gimbal look.

I must say this has developed into an interesting thread. Thank you all for your interesting input The Hero 4 Silver which I have now sold had never given me any issues . As for the Hero 7 which I have so far only used once, time will tell

Andre, my sincere apologies, i was replying to Jon and didn't spot you were selling a hero 4.
I didn't even know you could reply to for sale threads now.
Mods, feel free to bildge/delete the above accordingly as it isn't fair on a for sale post.

no worries as the Hero 4 which has been sold and now on route to new owner was faultless and I was very pleased with it but sold because of the purchase of the Hero 7 Black
as for my new purchase I will advise later how I get on with it perhaps in a new thread or admin could move all comments and make a new thread for GoPro probably that would be best.
