Landrover Gearbox

Just on the off chance since am struggling to find ones that are not both expensive and knackered. Looking for an LT230 and/or LT85 gearbox for my landrover - LT230 is at the top of the list, ideally with 1.222 ratio, but 1.410 also considered.

The transfer box doesn't have the low ratio gears left, high ratio is flaky.
The main box is just getting worn, so would like to replace it at the same time.

Don't mind about the condition of the replacements, will rebuild if needed.

That could be a selector issue on the transfer box which leads to high ratio being flaky also.
If you're happy to rebuild why not just rebuild your own?

Sorry kerny. Helped a chap on the A30 over Bodmin with transmission problems and it just showed me exactly how much crap these Landy guys expose themselves to. So it was a reply with sympathy and sorrow.

No need to explain mr p, I presumed that may have been the case

Might be worth calling AJS Land Rovers - 01737 241370 if they don't have one they may know where to get one. Based on Reigate Hill M25 J8

I have an Lt77 and whatever the transfer box that goes with it is that is not required. I can't absolutely guarantee it as I have never used it, but it was sold to me as good. The only reason I will not use it is that I will put the Disco R380 in that is on the 300tdi already.

All the best

David

Matt

Give Chandos a call (4LRSpares) on 07707 700667, he has both, based in Verwood, Dorset.

The LT230 is the transfer box only and the LT85 is the gearbox from a V8.
