Looking for 40-50hp outboard

looking at both 2 and 4 stroke, must be in good running order, nice and clean under the hood.

1999 Yam 50 4 Stroke, ES PTT Long Shaft. With remotes

1997 Mercury 50hp 2 Stroke. 3 Cylinder. ES assisted tilt. Oil Injected. Long Shaft. With remotes

Both in excellent running order. Both clean.

thanks for the help, but too much for me unfortunately. Looking to spend around £1250. I have found a few good ones for that price but always been at the wrong time.


There was a bargain on ebay, 50hp tohatsu ptt electric start 2006, looked immaculate and went for £1190! TOHATSU 50HP TWO STROKE OUTBOARD ENGINE | eBay

Cool. That was a bargain. I've a customer wanting to trade in a merc 50hp 2 Stroke. Its electric start with remotes etc and will be around £1,500

Hi there, Ive got twin tohatsu 50s, 2 strokes, ill have for sale in the next couple of weeks if any good, both 2001,manual start, and tilt, good condition, with remotes, still on my rib, if interested pm me.

Have you considered buying a complete boat.
I found it was the cheapest way for me last time. But it was mainly because the right one came up.
Can be more hassle, but, you can test the engine easily first and then sell the left over boat to recover some costs.

im looking at one on a speedboat at the moment- nice 2000 yammy 2 stroke. He wants £1400 for the whole package. I can also salvage the steering and things so it is an option

Exactly. Do you have a current engine that your changing?

I did and put it on the speedboat I took the 'new' engine off and sold it for what I paid.
So I got 20 more horses for nothing! :-)

no i dont unfortunately. I am starting from scratch, dont have a console fitted yet....
