Mariner 8HP Long Shaft Swap for Short Shaft
I have a Mariner 8HP (year unknown, believed to be late 80's) long shaft outboard that I'd like to swap for a Mariner short shaft (any HP, minimum 8HP and max 30HP).
Runs perfect. I've flushed it at least twice a week (using muffs), and I've run it off 50:1 Quicksilver premium 2 stroke oil and premium unleaded fuel. It looks (see pictures) as if it's had a new Lower Unit put in as there is a colour difference. Also had a new impeller fitted within the past 2 months, and hasn't seen much (if any) use since then.
Reason for swap is I bought a SIB that takes short shaft, and I cannot find a jack plate anywhere for a decent price. (Any ideas of how I can raise it appreciated as well!)
