Mercury 2 stroke 4hp For Sale - needs tlc

Bought about 5 years ago second hand, again from Ron Hale, used on tender for one season and then been sat in parents garage unused and uncared for. Lid has seized closed so cant open her up and there's a fair bit of corrosion on the underside of the casing and shaft but should be okay with a bit of tlc and a hammer..offers around £100. In Portsmouth..

How old is it altogether?
Does it have a twist-grip and forward and reverse gears?

Also need to find out if it would be lighter than the 4.5HP Johnson I currently have for my two lads SIB

Nasher, my 1994 Mariner catalogue lists the 4hp as 20.5 kgs and it has a FNR gearbox with through hub exhaust. The 5hp is the same 102cc engine and from memory the difference is the 5 hp has both internal tank and external fuel feed, but more interesting is that the 4 hp has one reed blanked off so with new reeds you would have a 5hp, I think.

The 4.5 Jonny the boys have is based on the 6HP seahorse, and is a bit heavy, but it does tick all the boxes I wanted for their engine.

Twist grip throttle
F-N-R Gears
Integral fuel tank
Cost me sub £100

It has been a reliable little engine, but it is a bit heavy.
I could probably sell it on ebay qiute easily too.
