mercury 25hp 2005 2 stroke

Hi,
I am after a 25hp merc 2005. Shaft length standard. Well I need about 17.5 inch. Must be in good working order and the right price.
What you got. I am in the Herts area but can travel.
Keeping fingers crossed that some one on this site can help.

Depends on wheter you're looking for performance, ease of carrying, reliability, fuel economy, cost, etc. etc.

I suppose you want all of the above.

You're looking for the holy grail. Open up the field somewhat and there's a chance something might come along. Here's a Yammie 15hp (2007) Pennine Marine Ltd > Yamaha 15hp Two Stroke Outboard - preowned 2007 model

Also a nice couple of nice Yammie 25hp (but 4-strokes) at Bill...(I'll need to remortgage my house) Higham.

I just want a 25hp now. As for a four stroke, I dont want to crane it from my van to the boat.

Merc/Mariner are about the lightest 25hp 2-strokes. Not the most pokey, but reliable and loads of used spares around for them. I have one on an Avon 340 RIB and it suits the boat well.

The 25 Yam is pretty much the same all round, but has oil injection, which some like & some don't.

Twatsoo 2-cyl 25 is a great motor - loads of punch, simple, reliable and you can rev the nuts off them.

Soozook DT25 packs the most grunt, has 3-cylinders and a larger capacity, so has better acceleration and all round performance. Heaviest of the lot, so probably won't tick the 'easy to carry around' box. Production of these stopped in 2000, so clean examples are getting rare now.

Some Twatsoo 25s were de-rated 40/50hp 3-cyl motors, made in the early-mid 1990s. Heavy, but QUICK.

For an inflatable, the Merc/Mariner probably fits the bill best. The Yam is also a great little motor, but will cost more.

Expensive... but it is 2008, and yes it's a 2-stroke (50kg).
Buy Used Outboards yamaha 25hp short shaft, manual start, tiller control 25.0HP Outboard at Bill Higham Marine

Or stay with Twatsoo... (2003) http://www.BoatsandOutboards4Sale.co...utboard-engine
