Mercury 4.5 Golden Series outboard (project!)
I've got an old Mercury 4.5 Golden Series outboard if anyone wants it before I dump it. Believed to be late 1970s, no idea when it was last run, or if it runs at all. One of the clamp screws is siezed. Collect from Brighton.
Please form an orderly queue . . .

If I can arrange someone to collect it I'd take it just for something to tinker with in the garage... but not having much luck right now

Charming. A very good engine and well worth holding onto (I've been told).
I was at HQ today (finally getting donegaldan sorted with a proper boat ) and the Boss was extolling the virtues of the very same motor...
...he had heard that we were on the scrounge for transport to Easdale and thinks that we should rough it this year!

Oooh An aux to match my main lump!
...just a shame about the 1000 odd mile round trip.
If anyone from your neck of the woods is heading for Easdale, I'll buy them a beer or two for transport, otherwise I'll have to just keep going wih the 'rude.

I don't mind putting it on a pallet if you want to get Speedshift or someone to pick it up.

Is it long or short shaft, and does it at least move when you pull the string?
Not very fussy, am I?

Short shaft, turns over fine. It may even be a runner!
It's the blue and gold version.

What side of Brighton are you?
If I can arrange getting over to you we'd probably have it off you as it would make a good project for the smaller Nashers to do up under supervision.
Nasher.

I'm on the side of town nearest you, about 5 minutes off the A27. I could probably get the motor dropped off in Emsworth if that would help?

Short is no use as an aux.
If the mini Nashers don't want it, let me know.

Yes please, we'll have it.
PM me a number and I'll give you a call.
As they'll be in no rush Emsworth would be good, but don't want to put you out.
thanks
Nasher
