Afternoon Jezza
Yes remotes included with loom and key and a return bar to connect to your existing teleflex steering. No control cables are included as they will need to be selected for the length of boat you have so there was no point me buying some for the sale. I can obtain them new to be included in the sale at full asking though if required. I think they ate around £18 each (two required).
I also have a complete hydraulic steering system available if preferred for an extra £200 in very good as new condition.

Is the second one identical. I have 2 x 2005 Mercury 75s at the moment and might be interested in the extra power if they would be an easy swap out and from the looks of it they are physically identical units to my current ones

Can't you just change your ecu's from 75-90. You're out of Warranty I guess by now anyway, so no issue there and youd keep your known, newer engines. Only the 115 is different by more than the ecu, I believe.

Hi
Yes the 2nd unit is the same and identical in terms of model, age the same too I think. The hood is a little more marked but nothing serious. Here's a pic
The 75hp and 90hp are identical. Not sure how much you need to change to get the 75 to a 90 but you could swap power heads entirely onto your legs if desired. I agree on trying where possible to keep the newer, known to you motors as much as possible but then again if you sold 2 x 2005 Merc 75hps I bet the 90's would owe no more to you than what you got for yours, maybe even turn a little profit and gain more power!
Worth considering

I wasn't thinking of swapping bits of engine more hoping to drop on the 90s to existing cables and wiring harnesses. The saddles should be the same so I'm expecting would sit straight up onto the transom and bolt on. I've only had these engines 18 months so don't really know them that well myself.
How well do you know your 2?
Do you know if there is much weight difference between the 75 and 90? My manual is at home so I don't have the spec sheets to hand.
I'm thinking similar to you, ought to be able to sell the 75s and make a reasonably low cost upgrade.

Interesting is that all the difference is?
I must admit I haven't looked at the specs of the engines. I just had this bright idea when I saw the 90 come up for sale.

Not very but that's not unusual. They both came from different homes. Both have seen little use that's for sure by the condition under the cowl.
One came as direct PX to a main dealer being swapped for an opti to get more power (being the first listed), the other came on a small 14ft speed boat again with little use. It was advised as having a full service 10 mths ago and not used since. The seller actually sold it as spares or repairs to me as since the service he had never used it and when he tried to start it last week he got a click from the solenoid and nothing else. He got "a mate" to look at it who diagnosed it to need a re-wire and a new starter motor. His logic being the power is there due to the clicking, solenoid works as he got that click so it's the starter motor!!! Errr no...
I took it in and found all it actually needed was a battery terminal (I got lucky). The connection from lead to terminal was poor giving an intermittent connection. Once changed (£3) it fired up first time and ran sweet as a nut. The guy needs a new mate that's for sure!!!
They are the same weight as your 75hp motors... No joke! They will drop right on in place and provided yours is not the newer 14 pin adapter the controls will plug right in. Couldn't be a better match!
Hope that helps.

Very sorry but this one is now sold pending payment. I have one left which will be pictured very soon. Of course if it falls through I'll edit the post.

Thanks for letting me know. Saves me spending any more time working up the options.
Do let me know if it falls through, I'll check my wiring tomorrow night for the harness. If it is the same I would definitely have been interested.
The idea from Paul sounds like it might be an interesting way forward as an alternative though, just an ECU change would be very attractive if the 90 HP version could be sourced at a decent price.
Cheers

Check carefully the ECU isue, they might have the same. I have a remote memory that the difference between the carbed 75 and 90 is regarding timing and the carbs. If optimax, then another story.

Thanks for that mine are non Opti. I'll dig out the serial and model numbers and try and get an official answer.

Good knowledge!! It appears that the difference is indeed the carbs but sadly not just the jets.
Now I just need to find someone breaking a couple of post 2000 90s and acquire 6 carbs!!
