Mercury trim/tilt unit 150 Opti

Complete fully functional trim/tilt unit from a 2000 150 Mercury Optimax (fits lots of other models too)
In perfect working order, was only removed because I obtained a complete new lower unit when I needed to replace the pivot bushes earlier in the year...

As shown in the photo, it was antifouled by the previous owner of the RIB. There's absolutely no corrosion on the hydraulic rams and no fluid leaks.

They are on EBAY for £300 to £500, so I'm looking for around £400 ono.

Anyone know if this is the same as a 3 litre block? Need one for one of my 225's.

Oi Jizm, start your own thread;-)
Thanks for confirming the 150 trim unit will fit the 225 though.
I'll do a part compare search on the Mercury on line parts catalogue tonight and post a list of all the engines our parts will fit
Maybe that'll help us both sell our parts.
:-)

They are advertised for those sums on ebay but never sell for such amounts. I dont want to burst your bubble but I picked a working one up for around £85 a couple of years back, then roughly 8 months later I managed to obtain another good one for my brother for a similar amount. Both thanks to ebay. They are both on 50hp. 2 strokes, circa 85. These units will fit quite a number of models.

Yes. I've just fitted a 2004 150 unit to a 2004 225

Without wanting to jump in on the deal (think I sold you the entire new unit last year Mitch ?) I've got a complete unit also available which came off the 150, its motor is pretty much knackered as it has a rough bearing noise and struggles to move, but the rest is ok

EDIT : just read the replays. I will withdraw mine from sale, not fair to jump in with another option on this one

Peter

Thanks a lot Mercury, I'll remember your comments next time you try to sell something;-(
Don't suppose you want to consider deleting your post do you?

FWIW the asking price, assuming its open to a sensible offer is a good deal

£80 is a joke

Look here

http://bit.ly/UwtVd8 USA £500 inc shipping (plus import)

1996 MERCURY 225HP TILT & TRIM ASSEMBLY

http://bit.ly/PDf6sj £525 plus import

POWER TILT TRIM UNIT MERCURY 225 4 STROKE

http://bit.ly/Uwu00B £300 plus import

Mercury Outboard V4 Power Tilt Trim Pump Unit Assembly *Clean*

http://bit.ly/Uwu4NN - incomplete missing motor and in average condition £200 plus import

So you get the idea! You won't find one complete and fully working for £80 in the UK

Thanks Pete, I was going to do something similar when I got home that would show i was asking a reasonable price.

To any one who still may be interested, I am open to sensible offers....

mercury power trim motor | eBay

Although it needs new seals I know it wont cost approx £325 to repair. I can get seals from City Seals & Bearings for a fraction of the price charged by the main stealers. I know because I have repaired them in the past.

That's one of the old clamshell units. I don't think it'll convert to an Opti the old clams are ten a penny.

That one has lost its scraper on the main ram which is pretty common, a new seal won't fix the corrosion which causes that.
