Looking for one these or someone who can sort the backlight. Current one works but can't really see anything. Anyone got any ideas ?
Cheers

I've used http://www.theservicecentre.eu before
They did a stand up job.
No idea who they are but they fixed a navman backlight problem for me before.

North America??

I also have a Navman (northstar) 550 with a backlight problem. If anyone could recommend someone on this side of the pond it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for that... Just called them and they'll have a look at it though they might not have parts anymore as Navman aren't about anymore.
Cheers

have you tried the brightness control? Press the on/off switch and it brings up the display control.
I've probably got a manual somewhere but its easily found on the net

Yup tried that but still the same.... Even reset to factory. Apparently the back light is part of LCD screen so the full screen needs replaced, if part's available. The place recommended in previous reply say they can sort if part is available but want forty odd quid +vat to look at
Cheers

I've got a brand new one . I bought it years ago and it's just been sat in the garage . I've also got a Bristol Channel map and full U.K. map for it . Make me a reasonable offer .
