Navman 8120

Right, anyone interested in my old navman 8120 before I chuck it on eBay?

It is in generally good condition but is not without its faults. It has just come back from the service centre where they couldn't Fix the card reader due to parts not being available any more.

Prior to going to them every thing worked but the card reader so its impossible to upload a cmap.

Everything else worked... E.g sonar, gps and the smart craft functions.

I think I still have the bracket if required.

Feel free to make me an offer if interested bearing in mind the lack of card reader. One sold on eBay for silly money but I don't expect offers like that!

Pics can be taken if required

Thanks

Navman 8120

Hi there

I have a Navman 8120 Chart Plotter and am struggling to get assistance from Navman/Navico. I would like to make contact with anybody who has one. I need a small switch but am unable to identify the correct value. All I need is a photo of the part marked Q5 as in the attached photo. If someone can take a photo I will be able to identify the value and purchase one from the local electronics shop. Any help would be appreciated.

Navico is not and never was Navman.

My understanding is Navman was from NY and is no more.

Hiya Daniel ! I think you are right to be suspicious ! Q5 looks like some sort of transistor switch , associated with the power supply . If it has blown , I would guess that it was much more likely to be a symptom rather than the original problem ! Good luck to the OP but I think you will be needing the original and correct circuit diagram at least !

Very interesting Poly, I did not know Navico aquired Navman / Northstar (basically the same products) at the same time as B&G. They obviously shelved it.
