All the cheap fins on the market require you to drill and bolt to the cavitation plate of the motor, this if used in rough can cause this REALLY IMPORTANT part of the engine to break. This unit clamps in place, no drilling and being one piece it is MUCH stiffer and really makes a difference. Being one piece these fins are also larger and give more lift than most of the 2 part bolt on units.
