Wanted: Osprey Viper 5.25 cover

Ladies, Gents,
I'm pleased to say that I've recently become the proud 'new' owner of a '94 Osprey Viper, which seems to be in reasonable condition for its age.
With winter fast approaching I'm looking for a good quality cover for it, and for use all year round. She has a single seat jockey console and a rear 2 seat bench fitted, plus standard A frame. She's beamy at 2.4m.
I don't have the budget for a bespoke cover so was hoping that with the knowledge / experience on here someone might be able to point me in the right direction to an 'off the shelf' one that's gonna fit nice.

Thanks, appreciate it. I had read up on the Ducksback covers on here. I'll get in contact with them so as not to make a balls up with the cover size due to her relatively large beam compared to her length.

Can I also just say what an amazing effort you, and others of course, did with the RIB 4 MacMillan. Legend.

The reason I asked about the colour was I bought a Osprey Viper 525 that was going to be the original RIB 4 Macmillan, it was blue tubes, white hull and a mariner 100hp and an frame too.

After getting feedback about me loaning the money to the project and then taking it back after the sale I decided to sell it.

It might be the same one, but several were made at the time funded by the National Lottery for dive clubs, these boats were made by Northern Diver.

Very interesting. It's a yes for the Mariner too. I'll inspect the console again, closer, although it's definitely now white !!!

If it is her then I'm hoping you can confirm its all good news.

You may well be the guy 'from down south' that the seller referred to ! I bought it somewhere close to Leicester, can't remember the town.

If you know of any more history, good or bad, either about this specific hull or in general, then I'd be really interested to hear.

Good hull. If she got a 100, that'll be a nice pairing.

I'd think you need a size 4 ducks back (out of stock) we measured up for a 5.8 humber and allowing for going up and over front console and rear seats it's 6.4 L, right on the limit of a size 4 (pop 6.5 into the size calculator and it says size 5).

On the basis a cover is better than no cover a size 5 is in the post.

Yep, I'd say that's my baby ! Console obviously been sprayed at some time, looks ok to me though.

I'm hoping to swap the rear bench out with hopefully 2 x double jockeys (4 kids to seat !!!), but it won't be in this years budget !

Yep that's her, she's solid

Owned by a dive club from new until I bought it.

She wasn't used much though.

A good looking boat and loads of room on the deck. I polished the hull, made the backrest as it was missing. I also had to replace the damper on the trailer.

Managed to inspect the console closer and you can just make out the original blue round an edge of the for'd hatch, spray job. Apart from that, don't think much else has changed. All the electronics etc. were passed on to me, including the dive bottle rack ! The hour meter shows 142.3, but don't know if I trust this on a 20yr old boat and engine. Although I don't think the seller used it much either !

I think it was the seller that mounted the bench seat, which has a hinged backrest and cool box storage with drain hole. Screwed down.

Not had it out much myself due to a knackered power tilt unit on the '93 Mariner 100 which is proving a PITA to get sourced / fixed. That'll be my next post !

And no transom bung ! Hopefully my DIY skills will be adequate to insert one.

The 'up and over' max width across the jockey seat / bench is 112' so I might have to go for one of the longer covers to get the width coverage. The main topic of this thread !!!!!

It's a nice feeling for me to know that she was nearly the MacRIB ! Although there's no way I'll ever be able to get her to the standard that that mighty vessel was taken to. That was simply superb.
