Smartcraft Gauges

Evening all,

Due to the sun crazing the lenses of my Smartcraft gauges I'm after a pair of replacements.

Not sure of part numbers but one is the Tacho type, the other is a speedo. 2001 Optimax 150.

Anything kicking around in the garage?

They can be fixed for free with a bit of patience.

Any clues as to how?

It looks like the inner Perspex screen is crazed - not the outer one.

I've not investigated how they come apart though yet.

You can dismantle them and polish them with duraglit or jewellers rouge

No worries. It's a very delicate operation to get the lens out and you may lose a tab or two. Don't worry there are loads. The rest is easy, remove inner, throw away. Clean outer, put back together. You may get a bit more condensation but you can take the gauge apart from the rear and put a silica pack inside. To be honest mine rarely mist up...
