With a winter channel crossing you'd have to be very careful that not only do you have conditions for a safe outward passage but you have enough time to get back before you get stuck the wrong side to the channel, I'd imaging most leisure channel hoppers won't be considering a crossing till the spring at the earliest

I’ll be arranging a trip or two this coming spring/summer, I’m sure there will be some free seats - keep an eye of the forum, the crossings are normally advised in advance. Andre ( on this site ) did a few last year in his lovely 8m Parker and took some guests. Hope to see you out there
