An elderly, yet still sprightly 85HP Suzuki. I took it off my boat last autumn as I found a Mercury 90 that's in better order.
The engine runs well, but it does have a few issues:-
1. There is an annoying fault with the oil injection flow sensor. Basically it clogs up and puts the engine into limp mode. It's easy to rectify(by simply cleaning the sensor) and the engine will then work fine for another 10-15 hours when the same thing happens again.
2. The engine runs great at speed, but doesn't like idling and will occasionally stop then be a little temperamental when starting from hot. It's not the end of the world, but it can be irritating.
3. The gearbox casing has a split in it (clearly shown on one of the photos). It's not an issue as it's nowhere near the seal, but I can't guarantee it won't get worse. Having said that it didn't change at all last year.
The engine comes with an equally elderly control box, tachometer and oil level/warning gauge. Also a pair of virtually brand new control cables (can't remember the length).
