Swap: Left hand Yam 703 for right hand 703
Got a mint left hand 703 remote, bought new just after xmas this year. Wondering if anyone has a right hand 703 and would like to swap?

John, most of the control boxes are reversable. Just unbolt the lever, re-route the wire via the little plastic bit on the bottom and you are away. However be aware there are some Yamaha control boxes that are push/pull and some are pull/push for the gear and throttle cables.

Thanks for the info lads. So the lever just goes onto the back of the box? Wont look cosmetically as good though will it?
Stu, the new 703 replaced a 702 box which was broke. Sorry mate.
Pete, I think it's the 703's designed for the newer 4 stroke that push the other way. I've already been using this one but have a new console to fit it onto.
I did have a moment of panic when i first bought it and found this site telling you how to change the levers inside. http://kaplan1.com/yamaha/
Luckily I didn't have too.

Stu
I've got a spare 'generic' ignition in the garage if you want it.
I'll let you have it when we can get together about the engine.

I've got a Yamaha control box on my Searider with a Mariner/Mercury outboard. Perfectly happy to swap my Yamaha control box if anyone has a Mariner/Mercury one. Not sure if its a 703 but you may be able to identify it from the picture in my post "Avon Searider Seats and Windscreen"

Yeah that's a 703. It's the same side as mine though. You never know someone on here with a yam but mercury control may be up for the swap. I'd start a new thread so it's not lost in this one
