I bought this from TIMO in October 2011 - ttp://www.rib.net/forum/f10/tohatsu-40hp-2006-for-sale-44557.html - With the intention of converting to long shaft - needless to say when I looked into the costs, that never happened!
I winterised the outboard and it has been dry stored in my garage ever since, I had thought to get an inflatable to use it on as it's a light weight engine and perfectly suited - but realistically that won't happen anytime soon, so a new home beckons!
This is a 2005 manufactured engine, twin-cylinder tiller steer, commissioned in 2006 by Extreme Marine in Southampton, Starts and runs well, good jet of water. Timo reported that it has had less than 50 hours use and as it's showing compression of 135/136psi (using a snap-on gauge), this seems consistent. There are some scuffs but nothing major, and it has been drilled for fins and a prop guard.
Included in the sale are a genuine Tohatsu tank, fuel line and kill cord, Doel-Fins, and ten new NGK plugs - I bought these in the excitement of the purchase, but they don't fit the mariner outboard I ended up buying!
I live in Warwick but work 2 days a week in Bournemouth so could deliver along that route, I will also be on the IoW 27 July so could bring across if that fits - looking for £1195ono
