There's one going for £1200 on here with a Sib - sell the boat on and you have yourself a bargain

Arh them. For a moment I thought I had a cost effective option for customers. I used that lot once and they never showed up. They are no cheaper than the rest, just looks that way as they quote a basic service 3-5 days which is fine but not if it includes a 2/3 working day collection window. next day bumps it up to £65 at least

I'll stick with my trusted service. Everybody has their own preference and in fairness I gave them a chance but it wasn't to be. Shame

Speedshift/Codshift. Run by a RIBnetter (of old). I used them once. They whisked my 9.8 from Wales to NI in a couple of days. No problems. The boss gave me a VERY useful tip for packing half pallets (which a T9.8 is). He said to put a small empty box on top and wrap the whole thing up - then the subbies won't be tempted to put another box on top - 'cos it "can't balance".

Sneaky git!

Thanks for your experience. I don't mind a wait to save a few pence but if they don't deliver my motor at all thats another matter.
I've emailed them to see how their customer service is before I contract them to deliver a motor.

By the way B&O I contacted a well known supplier via an ad your website but having googled them their customer service seems to be average and that matches my experience. Not a detriment to you at all though. Just shows that anyone can have a fancy website and make claims of how good they are.

Thanks for the heads up but it's not my website! I don't have one and if I did it would not be that mess of a site that you have found. It's full of scams.

My trading name is Boatsandoutboards4sale but Ribnet has a max letter count and that's the closest I could get. Perhaps somebody could come up with a better option as I do get mistaken for them quite a bit. I wouldnt mind if it wasn't such a outdated, ineffective site

I'm all for saving a few quid and the delivery delay is no problem but to make myself available for 2 days only for them not to bother showing up was not acceptable. Yes mistakes happen but 2 days running on my first order ensured it was also the last. Once collected the service is great but it would be as they are a booking agent not a contractor so they only act as a third party and don't actually touch the items. They all get tendered out to local haulage firms so chances are no matter who it's booked with the same truck will arrive meaning your in the hands of them to deliver it.

I understand a Ribnetter runs the service but my customer would not accept that as an explanation I'm afraid!

Yes I confused the two names.
Thanks for the clarification!

I'm not buying via the boats and outboards website and their advertiser as I've found a much better deal myself

Big thumbs up for Speedshift here too.....They've carried lots of bit and pieces for us including several outboards.....Always found them to be reliable /cheap. In fact, a couple of years ago one of the local drivers they use out of Swansea, who had carried on with his deliveries through the snow (when others had headed home) delivered a large OB for us .....couldn't make it up the driveway though, so assisted us by carrying it with a group of mates I dragged out of the pub....

Thanks razor.

I'd popped back to ask boatsandoutboards who his preferred courier was after his experiences with speedshift.

The chandler supplying my tohatsu is happy to strap to a standard pallet if necessary.

I use "online pallet" who have never failed me yet. It's all the same though so provided it's secure on a pallet I'm sure it will be fine.
