There is no pick up. The bladder is tapered towards the outlet end, so the cap is at the lowest point. The cap has a tapped hole for you to fit your connector of choice.

If my Zodiac MilPro bladder fails, I’m keeping the cap so I can sell it for $1m.

Wouldn’t it be handy to know a man with a lathe

Right...
I do know a man with a lathe, so tomorrow I'm going to pop and see him and get two of the caps made up.

Let us know how you get on Spongie, there’s some serious tooling going on in the cap. There’s a recess too for the ‘o’ ring on the bladder side. The drilled holes are useful to get it to release (use a Torx screwdriver) as it can cause a vacuum as it drains.

The hardest part would be getting hold of a bit of ally billet to start with.

And not any old aluminium. Bit of research lists 5052, but 5083 gives more strength but meant to be difficult to machine. Apparently all are heat treated and have magnesium or silicone added for marine resistance. 6061 used in scuba tanks and has good characteristics for machining.

I’d be tempted to try Delrin. Easy to machine/ mechanically strong/good resistance to petrol & water.

Great thread here, and a very enthusiastic bunch!!
Zodiac should not have a problem supplying these caps. If needed, call the US Based MILPRO dealer for the US Marines and US Navy… Maurer Marine in Costa Mesa, California.
http://www.maurermarine.com
Another possible resource could be mirada research. They supply mostly high pressure items such as PRVs, inflation systems and so forth. But they might have something that they tried in the past still in the system. If so, they could knock out a few in short time. It’s all automated these days anyhow…
https://www.miradaresearch.com
A third option is Inflatable Boat Center in Portland, Oregon (USA). They are another very large MILPRO dealer and are super to work with.
http://inflatableboatworks.com
Hope some of this is helpful…

I am a bit of an idiot.
I've had no time to get one of the caps over to my friendly lathe operator... But it appears I can't count.
I have one tank without cap. Just one!

likewise, I’ve been swithering about scrounging one off a member to replicate it out of some nylon.

How much? I wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up in Hunt’s budget on Thursday!
These fuel bladders would make a great stocking filler. I can’t justify it, unless you want to sell just one?
