Hi Peter.
OK, so the rib was tied up on the Island Sailing Club pontoon where due to leaking tubes it was swamped by the wash from passing boats. Although it did not sink, the engine was partly submerged (about halfway up the block) for about 50 mins. The boat was towed back to portsmouth, recovered ashore, fully drained and the engine started and run. Since then it has been stored ashor and due to the tube/deck/ engine condition, has been written off by the insurers. We have bought the boat back from them and are having it redecked, retubed, re-engined and refurbed by RIBSHOP. We are simply disposing of the engine. As far as we know it still turns over, etc, but we want to makew sure that any purchasers is aware of the potential problems. I Hope that helps.
Steve
