I bought a 2013 Yamaha F115 4 Stroke outboard earlier in the year for my 17GTO Fletcher speedboat.
Unfortunately, I did not realise that it was an extra long shaft model. It doesn't work with my boat properly because at the highest transom setting the prop is still too low, causing porpoising over 30 knots.
I've asked a Mariner dealer about converting it but the cost is about £3K, and it would involve dismantling a virtually new engine. It had 30 hrs on it when I bought it, it has now got 41hrs. The Mariner dealer (who serviced it for me) said that the xtra long is usually fitted to Ribs, thus my posting.
It is on boats and outboards for £5600. It is on my boat and can be seen running, it is a beautiful engine but not the right one for my boat sadly.
