Yamaha Malta Outboard

This is a lovely compact little engine, in perfect working order, less than 30hours use since new.

shortshaft, 2 stroke, F/N gears, Twist grip throttle, only weighs 17kg.

Unfortunatly this does not fit on my narrow transom next to my main engine, I have no other use for it.

Looking for around £225, but open to offers.

You've left out the decimal point.

Ok, didnt really know what to advertise it as, I only had a quick look on ebay and B&O to see how others were priced.

Perhaps better to just say I'm open to offers.

samt - i got about that for a 2HP Honda 4/str on ebay. your 'ad' doesn't say the year, or HP. Is it just me or is the gearbox a different colour from the rest? Is that normal or has it been swapped/resprayed.

PS Not interested in it - just thought you might want some constructive comment rather than Mollers' pish. Would sugest ebay is the place to sell small o/boards... never seen one go cheap there!

I'd say thats about the right price Samt so stick with it and don't let it go cheap. Those Malta's are the best of the small 2 strokes IMO, power to weight and generally sought after. 3.5HP BTW

thanks for replys, I will try eBay, but theres so many time wasters on there, i'd rather offer it to a genuine person on here, even if I don't get as much for it.

The gearbox hasnt been swapped/resprayed, its the way the plastic has faded slightly compared to the metal parts.

They're brilliant engines, I never knew the actual hp. Thanks for that.

Hi. I'll be selling a Yamaha malta 3.5hp soon as I need a bigger aux for my boat which is a 7m fast fisher. Not a rib so it's heavy. I'm in Douglas, Cork on 0871308902.

Cheers,
Ralph

Sounds good. A few questions
Has it ever been dunked?
Has it been winterised each year?
Is it stored inside over the winter?

If all yes will pay £200 and arrange collection
Thanks

This is an old thread.

One here, looks rough as a badger cosmetically, £350
https://www.ashmarine.co.uk/shop/onl...e-short-shaft/

There are a few on Ebay too. Obviously price has gone up. One at Pacer Marine is £575, and one in Essex at £600.
