F470 Homemade Floor
Here is a cheap idea for floor panels. these are two plastic pallets that I cut the tops off.
They are almost the perfect size.

Until you hit a wave and they buckle. How do they handle from NAB to the Coronado islands...??
Not mocking you here... just genuinely curious and concerned at the same time.

FC470 Zodiac Inflatable OEM Hard 4 Panel Aluminum Floor w Stringers
Socal brings up a good point, buckling will wear the shit out of the tubes and with no way to lock it all together the ride will be terrible.

I haven't taken it out yet. I was thinking it would be similar to the roll up floor.

Far worse in my opinion. Do you have a roll up floor?
If you have a solid boat, I might be inclined to just give you a roll up floor if you don’t have one. Small community here if you know what I mean...

The boat is in fair condition. I just has a few patches on the deck part. I got the boat without a floor so I have been trying to figure out what to do without spending a lot. That roll up floor would be great I would really appreciate it.

Just out of interest, how do those Milpro roll up floors perform compared to the solid floors?

I wouldn’t run a 55hp on a roll up floor. 35hp max...
It’s more of bumpy ride on a roll up floor than the full hard deck.
If you have the money, buy the hard deck!! Stay away from plywood decks...

Unless you are willing to source the parts and spend the $$ to build the complete floor system with correct accessories the hard deck floors operational capability from Zodiac is only equal to the roll up floors. Although the hard deck system is in my opinion more comfortable to walk on, it fails to improve the boats performance or capability without the necessary additional hardware installed.
The 55 or 35 with the roll up works fine when adjusted correctly. Outfitted with dual 35s the boat will require deck plates. The F470 Hard deck floor is only superb when it is coupled with the correct stringers and correct transom cap. The 2 piece stringers shown with most hard deck floors are at the least a design flaw, a weak point in the floor system. Zodiac Publications that I own from my time and my practical experience with these boats while serving in the USMC show the floor system with only a single 4' stringer per side leaving 2 sections uncoupled. The additional short piece of stringer was a field expedient fix until the GOVT recognized the need for a fix and the "upgrade" came along. This is why you see the shorter stringers without plastic end caps. We literally cut old stringers which left us short on the plastic stringer end caps.
Years ago the correct combination of hard deck floor, cap and stringer that were sold to the government were also available commercially. They were not Zodiac products but fixed the weak point in the Zodiac floor system. The same company that provided that upgrade to the USMC was selling them commercially. Sorry, I wont promote their product or give them any free recognition here. The combination of all those items is necessary when F470 is outfitted with the genuine Zodiac Hard deck floor systems if you expect to see any gains. If you expect your boat to exceed the roll up floors potential the combination of all of those items will be required.
For safety sake don't use anything but a genuine hard deck floor system from Zodiac. The wood jobs that YoYo in CA conjured up may be ok for floating around a calm pond but you could certainly regret using one in big water or even swift water.
