A Crompton on a cargo trip!!!

Can't believe I have found this. The picture quality is totally crap but you can still see what's going on. Just look at how many jerry cans they have at the bow!!!

ermmmm.

if i were to leave by regular job and become a slightly less upstanding citizen i am not sure i would put my face on film whilst doing it!!!

Cool video tho!!

one of our ships picked up an old tornado 8.5 with twin 250 Yam 2 strokes drifting off Fos Sur Mer earlier this year. they reported to the authorities and french customs came out to inspect and approve that there was nothing "wrong" still on board and crew claimed under salvage laws.

The crew were trying to sell it and i considered it before they started asking silly money for what was to all intents a drug running boat!

i believe its still sat on the quay in Germany now as the german autorities wanted their bit!

I have some pictures somewhere.. will post them if i find them.

Ahh but in the good old days Gib turned a blind eye as it was good for their economy and bad for Spain - and seeing the way the Spanish treat Gib they get all they deserve!!!

I thought it looked a bit like a Searanger - maybe with a different console? Bit hard to tell as the video is so poor.

I had that video on my phone for a while - it was distributed to a couple of Gibratarian friends of mine - the gentleman concerned was arrested and convicted of smuggling due to the evidence he presented indirectlyh to the police!

The stories that I have heard would make your toes curl!

As Gib uses the British legal system I doubt that video would have been sufficient evidence on it's own. After all the cargo could easily have been Farley's Rusks and Golden Syrup!!!

I'm afraid they were told to me in confidence ............ I have no idea how he ended up convicted, but the video may have helped in some way!

Is there a UK version of "America's Dumbest Criminals"?

Posting self-incriminating videos on youtube isn't going to get the MENSA recruiters knocking on your door. He just might want to hire a solicitor from here rather than represent himself.

Whilst racing out in Malta I met a Belgian who had his engines shot out by an unmarked white helicopter whilst delivering a Ring RIB with no cargo at all!

Awesome video that.

Whilst looking at it came across another video of our mate from gib - looks even more like a Crompton in this video!!!

When will these people learn - you do NOT smuggle stuff at night in bad weather - you do it in broad daylight on a bank holiday weekend!!!

codders look at the tube ends ,the searanger (4 outboards )has half round (Dshape ) in order to gain the space for 4 outboards the rib in the first video has normal tube cone ends . there are lots of different ribs used for these purposes and lots of copies of the old crompton ribs . not trying to cover for crompton but he has yet to be found guilty in court .just being pedantic

Ahh it was the bow section locker I was looking at - if anyone knows about tubes it's you!!!

I don't believe in Crompton's guilt either - I reckon they are just trumped up charges. So what if drug smugglers do use them? Rolex and Ferrari would have been in serious trouble years ago if it was a crime for crooks to use your product!!!

Crompton also supplied loads of official organisations with the same boats - I reckon they should have won a Queens award for industry!!!
