a trip to a testament of british engineering

after my return from holiday to walt disney world the first weekend back
i wanted to take my rib out again i must be mad. but off i go to herne bay today to meet mr bilge rat for a after noon trip around sheppy and the forts and what a nice day it was two but i hope the following pics capture
the vast world war two fort at red sands that have stood the test of time for so long and i wonder how long they have left we do build things well
have a look at this http://www.radomes.org/museum/documents/TexasTower.html

we stopped at queenborough for hot choc drink provided by richard
don,t leave your flask in the car like i did

then past the richard montgomary yes its still full of bombs

then to red sands forts which to day for sum strange reason look breath taking

then to the new wind farm that being build which was allso vast

then back to herne bay

well pleased now with my rib its going well with 41 nm to one tank of 25 litres
of fuel

Great Pictures!

Ide love to get over there to see that myself. my uncle used to sail his little Hillier round them when he was a kid and always used to say how amazing there were.

As for the sunken explosives ship, the would be pretty cool too. we load our exploives ships round there as there are higher berth limits than Southampton and Tilbury!

Early days but i can see a long drive and bank holiday weekend over there this summer!

Hi Dan

Will I be able to join you guy's on a Thames cruise?? I want to do it myself this year, but it's always better with a few others.
I am also planning to go to Ribex and go round the Island on the same week-end,thinking of making it a four day break. What do you think.

Wayne

Yo guys,
Sorry couldnt join you this we. Maybe another time. Nice pictures, but it still looks bloody cold. But 41 miles on 25 litres, wow. I could just about get 30 miles on 25 lires if I kept the speed below 20kn.

Tim'mers.

If you think that was funny you should have seen Dan trying to get it off shame i'd put the camera away at that point

We up to anything this weekend, weather permitting, maybe Margate or Ramsgate instead of fantasy island

I may try and arrange for a recce trip soon. Upto Burnham, onto Bradwell and back. Need to check out the pubs and facilities.

Will see if Centaurus is free (nice big console to hide behind) if you fancy a trip.

Yep i'll be up for that one, just let me know when your planning to go and i'll come along to crew and share the costs etc, maybe see if you can drag Neill out too, though may be difficult as he doesn't do wet anymore
